Moving to Arizona has opened my eyes to a whole new range of vegetation– extremely different from what I’ve grown up seeing. During my last few years in Arizona, I paid particular attention to the cacti that surround the area. Contrast is a design principle that appeals to me the most. A cacti’s texture and forms by reflecting this principle, peaked my interest. The most fascinating contrast is contrast is the feeling of wanting to touch a cactus, but not being able to. This contrasting idea is translated in the form of a children’s book.
